Elvis Virdine Brandon, 81, of Rector, Arkansas came face to face with his Jesus on April 2, 2024 at 11:19am at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born Friday March 12, 1943 in Piggott, Arkansas to James Elvis & Delcie Imogene (Gettings) Brandon. He loved growing up in & attending McDougal, Arkansas, enjoying many activities including baseball, basketball, spending time with friends & coon hunting.
Elvis met the love of his life, Carol, in St Louis, Missouri in 1964 & later married in 1965. They enjoyed 58 years together and raising 4 children. He was called to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1975 & faithfully served in pastoral work in various churches for 49 years. His greatest work was witnessing the amazing grace of the Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, beloved uncle & mentor in ministry, Joe Brandon and son in law, Allen Hamilton.
He is survived by his wife Carol, of the home. As well, daughter Tami & Rick Williams of Jonesboro, daughter Shelley & Tony Davis of Trumann, son Shawn & Janee’ Brandon of Rector & son Hunter & Brittney Brandon of Caraway. A sister, Byrlene & Curtis Barker of Williford, brother James Terry & Janet Brandon of Paragould & sister Betty Brandon of Paragould. Grandchildren, Lindsey & Darren Hellums, Wade & Janna Hamilton, Ben & Catlyn Brandon, Macey & Weston Gilliam, Michaela & Scott Gracey, Luke & Kira Hamilton, Kendall Brandon, Kyleigh Brandon, Knox, Brandon & Megan Hamilton, 9 great grandchildren & a great host of family & friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector, Arkansas. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 6th 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. with the services beginning at 1:00 p.m. Brother Jerry Jolly & Brother Leon Harvey will be officiating. Burial will be at Rogers Chapel Cemetery, Crockett, Arkansas.
