Elgina Beth Bennett passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024, at the age of 63 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. Born on October 25, 1960, in Paragould, Arkansas, Elgina’s life was marked by her unwavering devotion to her faith, her love for all of God’s creatures, and her boundless curiosity that was fed through the pages of countless books.
Elgina’s passion for animals was evident to all who knew her. She had a heart that extended compassion and care to every living being she encountered. An avid reader, she found solace and adventure within the realms of literature, her imagination ignited by stories that spanned every genre.
Children held a special place in Elgina’s heart. Elgina’s whimsical spirit shone through her fondness for flamingos and sock monkeys, which brought playful joy and a splash of color to her and others’ lives.
Most importantly, Elgina was a devout Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life’s trials and triumphs. It was this deep-rooted belief that gave her strength and spread light to those she touched.
Elgina was preceded in death by her parents, Elgin and Patricia Agee; husband, Gary Bennett; and son, Chris Main.
Survivors include her step children, Joshua Bennett (Beth) and Sarah Griffin; sisters, Nancy Wilkins and Teresa Brown; step grandchildren, Emily Griffin, John Griffin, Morgan Flemming, Christopher Main, Bo Main, Ashton Caviness, and Whitney Caviness; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 9, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at noon at Phillips Funeral Home with Billy Pearson officiating. Burial will follow at New Friendship Cemetery.
