Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug 7, 2024 – A Paragould man was caught shoplifting at Walmart this week, but that was the least of his problems.

Officers were called to the Highland Drive Super Center about a white male suspect who employees saw shoplifting. Officers saw him outside as they pulled into the parking lot. 36-year-old Brett Ratliff smelled strongly of alcohol, and he was sweating profusely. He was also acting very nervous.

Store loss prevention showed police a security video of Ratliff removing a camera from its packaging and hiding it on himself. A woman, Brianna Mueller, was seen acting like his lookout. They were both escorted to their vehicle in the parking lot, and a K9 officer found something.

There was a glass meth pipe with residue in the driver’s side door. There was also a blue fanny pack that had about 20 grams of meth, two digital scales with residue on them, and several plastic baggies with rubber bands. An orange pill bottle with the label removed contained 58 pills that were identified as Amphetamines. Two open bottles of liquor were found in the car and Mueller had some marijuana in her purse. Both Mueller and Ratliff were arrested.

Ratliff’s bond was set at $500,000 c/s.
