Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – May 10, 2024 – The Downtown Business Improvement District (DBID) convened for a board meeting today, focusing on future initiatives and addressing pending tasks crucial for the district’s advancement.
A highlight was the progress update on the DBID’s 501(c)(6) application. After 18 months of meticulous paperwork spearheaded by Waddell Cole and Jones, the application nears completion, with a legal bill of $12,769 approved for payment by the board. This milestone marks a significant stride towards formalizing the DBID’s legal standing and operational framework.
The DBID satisfied its pledge to allocate 25% of its financial earnings to the Downtown Jonesboro Association with a fulfillment donation of $16,164.28.
The board also deliberated on banking arrangements, making the decision to establish an account with First Community Bank after several RFPs were sent out and returned. After the DJA donation was subtracted, the DBID holds $48,492.82, with funds still to be paid to Waddell Cole and Jones.
Looking ahead, the board outlined plans for the next public meeting, tentatively scheduled for June 27 at 5:15 pm., location yet to be decided.
