Dennis Joe Davis, 76, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024.  He was born October 14, 1947, in Hardy, AR.  Dennis lived most of his life in Thayer, MO. He was an Air Force Veteran and served from 1965 until 1969.

Dennis and Louise (wife) met at a Baptist college in 1970 prior to going on to seminary. They’ve been married 54 years and partnered in 11 churches throughout their ministry. Preaching was his calling, which led him to various states and international mission trips. Dennis was a pastor for 50 years and was passionate about serving God.  Dennis was a nurturing, hands-on husband, father, and grandfather. He was devoted to God and his family. Dennis was a lifelong fan of the “world-famous” Kansas City Chiefs and often laughed at his own jokes.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Jackson Davis; daughters, Jody Davis (Steve Teal), Shannon Mason (Jimmy), and Amy Davis; grandchildren, Shellbie Mason, Ashleigh Flatt (Trenton), Jay Mason (Airica), Colton Davis Teal, Spencer Teal; and great-grandchildren, Ridge Mason, Henleigh Mason, and Lydia Flatt.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 20th, at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral at 11:00 a.m. both at Phillips Funeral Home, with Jared Pickney officiating.

There will be a private, family graveside burial following at Linwood Cemetery.

Larry Wilson, Anthony Clancy, Tyler Clancy, Danny Jernigan, Roger Kirkland, Danny Harlan, and Tom Duffey will serve as pallbearers.
