Craighead County, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — July 31, 2025 — A Craighead County road will be closed next week for repairs.
According to a news release from the county, County Road 623, between County Road 644 and Lunsford Avenue, will close on Monday, Aug. 4.
Craighead County Judge Marvin Day told JRN that crews will be completing repair work on the road after it was damaged when a train derailed during April’s tornadoes. The project is estimated to last two weeks or until completion.
Detour signs will be posted to alert the public, and motorists are asked to use caution in the area. Commuters should allow for additional travel time. The road closure is also posted here.
