Craighead County, AR – Contributed – Effective immediately, Craighead County Judge Marvin Day has lifted the burn ban previously enacted on Aug. 14.

Due to the recent rainfall, conditions have improved, reducing the risk of wildfires and making it safe to resume controlled outdoor burning.

While the burn ban has been lifted, Craighead County fire chiefs and emergency personnel continue to urge residents to exercise caution when conducting any outdoor burning.

Citizens are reminded to follow all applicable state and local laws regarding burning activities.
