Jonesboro, AR – (Contributed) – Craighead County is pleased to announce that Wendy French has been appointed as the new County Administrator, effective January 26.

French has been serving Craighead County since early 2025 in the role of administrative coordinator and will assume the full responsibilities of County Administrator at the end of the month.

In her time with the county, French has worked closely with department leadership and elected officials, supporting daily administrative operations, coordinating internal processes, and assisting with organizational management across county offices. Her familiarity with county operations and commitment to public service position her well for this expanded leadership role.

French brings a strong background in operations management, budgeting, records management, and organizational coordination. Prior to joining Craighead County, she held leadership and administrative roles with the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce and other organizations, where she managed budgets, compliance, events, and member services. She has extensive experience supporting boards, coordinating meetings, and ensuring efficient office operations

She attended Arkansas State University, completing coursework toward a degree in Business Administration, and has spent more than a decade working in administrative and executive support roles.

County officials expressed confidence in French’s ability to provide continuity and effective leadership as she steps into the County Administrator position. Her appointment reflects the county’s focus on operational stability, professionalism, and service to the residents of Craighead County.
