Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – The City of Jonesboro is seeking public comment regarding a rail crossing elimination study.
According to a social media post from the city, it is seeking resident feedback regarding which railroad crossings cause the “greatest concern” whether that be due to traffic delays, access, safety, congestion, or other issues.

The Jonesboro Rail Crossing Elimination Study is examining 18 railroad crossings throughout the city to find ways to increase safety and decrease traffic. According to information from the city, the study also aims to find places where it may make sense to remove street level crossings and replace them with a bridge or underpass so “cars and trains don’t share the same space.”
“Your feedback will help the City better understand where residents experience the biggest challenges and help inform the study moving forward,” the post said.
The survey can be completed online here. Alternatively, residents who prefer to fill out a paper copy can print off one here, or pick it up at the Jonesboro Municipal Center, located at 300 S. Church St.
If submitting a paper copy, it must be mailed to Craig Light, PE, City of Jonesboro Engineering Director, 300 S. Church St., Jonesboro AR 72401. The survey closes Oct. 12.
