Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – Voters on Tuesday were deciding whether or not to re-elect two incumbent judges in the Second Judicial District. Incumbent Judge Doug Brimhall was seeking re-election to a Division 04 position, incumbent Judge Skip Mooney, Jr. was seeking re-election to a Division 05 position.
Mooney narrowly avoided a runoff with challenger Brian Miles. Complete but unofficial totals showed Mooney received 50.19% of the vote, barely over the 50% threshold needed to avoid a runoff.
Curtis Hitt finished first in a three-person race for Division 4 receiving 39.06% of the vote. Andrew Nadzam finished second with 31.62%. Incumbent Doug Brimhall finished third with 29.32%. Hitt and Nadzam will meet in a runoff which will be on the general election ballot in November.
