Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Jan. 31, 2025 – A Chicago woman accused of harboring a convicted fentanyl dealer from Jonesboro was given a $250,000 cash-only bond on Friday.
District Judge David Boling found probable cause to charge 31-year-old Tanesha Gillette with one count of hindering apprehension or prosecution/ harbor or conceals, a Class B felony. This carries a fine of up to $15,000 and/or five to 20 years in prison.
According to the probable cause affidavit, 27-year-old Glen Gillette failed to appear for the third day of his trial for trafficking fentanyl on Oct. 23, 2024, causing the District Court of Craighead County to issue a warrant.
According to data obtained through license plate recognition, Tanesha Gillette first arrived at the Craighead County Courthouse at 12:11 p.m. Using this data, officers determined she left Chicago in the early hours of Oct. 22, 2024.
Meanwhile, Glen Gillette’s GPS ankle monitor showed him leaving his home at 1:54 a.m. on Oct. 23, 2024, and traveling to Centennial Bank. At 2:01 a.m., security footage showed Tanesha Gillette pulling up at the bank’s ATM drive-thru and attempting to withdraw cash, but failing due to entering the wrong PIN. At 2:05 a.m., the vehicle with both Glen and Tanesha Gillette left the bank and returned to Glen Gillette’s home.
They left the residence at 2:11 a.m., returned to the bank and withdrew $200, the affidavit said. According to the GPS tracking data and bank surveillance footage, they left at 2:17 a.m., traveled to Kum & Go and then went back to Glen Gillette’s home.
According to GPS tracking data, they left Glen Gillette’s home a final time at 3:05 a.m., getting on Interstate 555 and traveling northwest through Bono. Glen Gillette then cut off his ankle monitor, the affidavit said, and left it on the side of the highway between Bono and Sedgwick.
Using license plate recognition data, officers tracked the vehicle, where it appeared in Davenport, IA, and then in Chicago.
Officers contacted Glen Gillette’s mother and another person in her home, who told officers when they went to bed on Oct. 22, 2024, Glen and Tanesha Gillette were in the residence, but when they woke up, they were gone.
Glen Gillette was found guilty of simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of fentanyl with the purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia to manufacture, 2nd-degree battery against a law enforcement officer, 2nd-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and resisting arrest on Oct. 23, 2024, despite him not being in the courtroom. He was sentenced to 152 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
Tanesha Gillette was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Chicago on Jan. 7.
She was given a $250,000 cash-only bond and must wear a GPS ankle monitor due to living out of the state, according to court documents. Her next court date is Feb. 28 at 8:30 a.m.
