Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – Court documents show that a Jonesboro man accused in a 2025 shooting has had his case dismissed after the victim refused to cooperate with prosecutors.
Brandon Larrell Williams, 29, was originally facing charges of criminal attempt and possession of a firearm by certain persons in connection with an April 21, 2025, shooting that left a male victim with three gunshot wounds. However, an order of nolle prosequi was filed on Aug. 26 to drop the case.
The court filing notes that the victim was “unavailable or uncooperative” and refused to meet with prosecutors in person. After speaking with the state by phone on Aug. 25, the victim explicitly requested that the case be dismissed.

The original arrest stemmed from an incident captured on a SkyCop camera in the Cedar Heights area near Melrose Street and Word Avenue.
Police previously alleged that footage showed Williams pacing on Melrose before intercepting the victim, opening fire, and continuing to shoot after the victim fell to the ground. Authorities later located Williams’ identification inside a nearby townhouse he was seen entering after the shooting.
During his initial court appearance in May 2025, prosecutors noted a previous altercation between Williams and the victim at a downtown Jonesboro nightclub.
Despite requests from Williams’ defense attorney for a lower bond, District Judge David Boling set bond at $500,000, citing public safety concerns and Williams’ prior arrest record.
Court documents also show that on Sept. 28, Williams pled guilty to a delivering a controlled substance charge that stemmed from a multi-agency drug task force raid at Jonesboro home back in July. He was sentenced to 36 months of probation, and his other charges were dropped.
