Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – A Jonesboro automobile dealership made a donation to the Make A Wish Foundation Friday night that will go a long way toward granting wishes to children with life threatening illnesses.
Central Chevrolet took funds generated for its local marketing agency (LMA) discretionary fund and made a $45,000 contribution to Make A Wish. The presentation was made at the Christmas at the Park attraction at Joe Mack Campbell Park. Friday night was Jonesboro Media Group night and Make A Wish fundraiser night at Christmas at the Park.
“This is our third year to make a contribution to the Make A Wish organization,” said Mike Ashford, sales manager. “We do it by selling cars.” Ashford said a portion of each new vehicle sale goes into the discretionary fund. He said Central makes donations to several organizations but added “Make A Wish is the biggest.”
Christie Matthews, sales manager with the Jonesboro Media Group and Danna Johnson with Johnson Real Estate Group, accepted the donation on behalf of Make A Wish. Matthews and Johnson are volunteer wish coordinators for Make A Wish Foundation of the Mid-South.
“We can’t say enough to thank the owners and employees at Central,” said Johnson. “Mike Ashford has made it a point to make this donation now three years in a row. And it just gets bigger every year.”
“As far as fund raisers go this is the absolute best thing we do,” said Tyler Segars, general sales manager. “It’s our favorite thing to do especially during the holiday season just recognizing what is important. It’s children.”
Central’s donation will be added to the total collected during Make A Wish’s annual Have A Heart Wishathon fund raiser scheduled for February 13, 2026. Have A Heart is sponsored by the Jonesboro Media Group and KAIT-TV.
