Carolyn Sue Stanfill, known affectionately as Carolyn to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2024, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Born on December 29, 1946, in Boydsville, Arkansas, Carolyn’s life was a testament to her quiet, loving, thoughtful, and friendly nature, which touched the lives of all who knew her.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Toy and Mary Ellen Parker, and her cherished husband, Jerry Wayne Stanfill. Her legacy of love continues through her children, Tina Stanfill and Holly of Picayune, Mississippi, Teresa and Leslie Roland of Marmaduke, Karan and James Dixon of Jonesboro, and Gerri Throne of Rector. Her siblings, Jack and Donna Parker, Alton Parker, Mike Parker, Chris Parker, Yuton Vardell, and Marilyn Nunley, will hold her memory dear in their hearts.

Carolyn’s joy was multiplied by her grandchildren, Jake and Natalie Roland, Josh and Jazmine Throne, Jeremy and Felisha Throne, Ryan Dixon, Cody and Kelcie Throne, Jerry Don Throne, Chelsea McCain, Harley McCain, and Sara Grace Roland. Her great-grandchildren, Ella Throne, Cayden Throne, Blakely Dixon, Natalie Dixon, Kaylee Throne, Kyndel Throne, and William Throne, brought her immense happiness and pride.

A proud graduate of high school and a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse, Carolyn devoted over 35 years of compassionate service to the Paragould Nursing Center and Greene Acres Nursing Home. Her commitment to her profession was evident in the care and comfort she provided to her patients and their families.

Carolyn’s interests were a reflection of her love for life and nature. She found solace in fishing, where the tranquility of the water mirrored her calm demeanor. Her hands were rarely idle, as she created beauty through her crocheting, a skill that she shared with many. Her garden was a vibrant tapestry of flowers and plants that she tended with the same care and attention that she gave to her loved ones.

Above all, Carolyn cherished the time spent with her family. Whether it was a simple family dinner, a festive holiday gathering, or a quiet afternoon conversation, these moments were the cornerstone of her life. Her presence was a comfort, her laughter a joy, and her guidance a steady influence on those she loved.

The family will receive friends on Thursday August 22, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector. Funeral Services will be on Friday August 23, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Kim Bridges officiating. Carolyn will be laid to rest at Harvey’s Chapel Cemetery in Marmaduke.
