Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Dec. 6, 2024 – A Camden man was given a $150,000 cash-only bond after being found with multiple drugs including fentanyl.

On Dec. 3, Jonesboro police saw a truck fail to use a turn signal at a stop sign on Thorn and Race Street. The officer stopped the vehicle at Curtview Drive and Race Street.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the officer was familiar with the 30-year-old driver, knowing he was on probation and had a search waiver on file. The officer searched the man and found three suspected fentanyl pills, 15 suspected Alprazolam pills and one gram of suspected marijuana on his person.

Officers took the man to his home on Craighead Forest Road for a probation search there, during which they found 11 suspected fentanyl pills, 47 suspected Alprazolam pills, 28 grams of marijuana, a one-gram THC cart and 5.75 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms. They also found a scale with marijuana residue, a heat-sealing device with clear baggies and several containers with marijuana residue.

In addition, the man had signed a new probation and search waiver allowing a search of his phone. While searching it, officers found several instances where the man was reportedly selling fentanyl for $10 a pill and 3.5 grams of marijuana for $25.

After being read his Miranda rights, the man admitted to buying the fentanyl pills for $5 a pill and selling them for $10 to “make a quick profit,” and that he was on the way to sell another person four ounces of weed, according to the probable cause affidavit.

On Dec. 6 while standing before Judge Tommy Fowler, the judge considered the man a “danger to the public.”

The man is charged with the following:

  • Possession of fentanyl – possession with purpose to deliver – delivery/manufacture
  • Use of a communication device
  • Possession of Schedule I or II drugs not meth or cocaine greater than two grams but less than 28 grams
  • Possession of Schedule IV or V with purpose to deliver (two counts)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Failure to use turn signal

He has a court date of Jan. 24, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. and is being held at the Craighead County Detention Center. His bond was set at $150,000 cash only.
