Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Dec. 31, 2024 – When Randy Mayhan went to work for Northeast Arkansas Termite and Pest Control in 1980, he was 20 years old. Like others choosing to retire at the end of 2024, Mayhan is calling it quits after 44 years of service. Mayhan turned 64 this month.

Over the last 44 years, Mayhan worked his route of homes and businesses spraying for pests. Those dreaded spiders, and ants, and rodents, and other pests that people would rather not find in their homes and businesses. Once a month he would pop in with his spray canister full and charged and quietly go about doing what he did.

John and Betty Bewley founded Northeast Arkansas Termite and Pest Control 51 years ago in 1973. Mayhan has worked for the Bewleys for all but seven of those years.

“Randy has been just an incredible employee,” John Bewley said. “He came to work for us when he was very young and has run that route for us ever since. He’s just a really good person.”

Mayhan was asked, “What’s next?” He replied, “I’ve got a shop full of old classic motorcycles and my dad’s old truck. My mom and dad are still around. I’m going to spend a lot of time with them and tinkering around in that shop.”

He said he is still going to help the Bewleys from time-to-time with the transition.

Randy is married to Deniseia, who also believes in long-time service. Deniseia recently celebrated her 25th work anniversary at KAIT-TV.

Reporter’s note: Randy Mayhan started spraying my home at 1802 Magnolia Lane in Paragould back in 1985. My wife, Jenna and I currently live in our fifth home and Randy has sprayed every one of them as well as at our radio station facilities in Paragould back in the 80s and 90s as well as the building we are in now at 314 Union St. My current house is the last house Randy sprayed for Northeast Arkansas Termite and Pest Control on Dec. 30. I wish Randy, as well as all of those retiring here at the end of the year, a long, happy and healthy retirement.
