Brookland, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — July 16, 2025 — Brookland Public Schools announced its new assistant superintendent on Tuesday.
In a Facebook post, the district said Chris Moss would be its new assistant superintendent. He is taking the position formerly held by George Kennedy, who is now the district’s superintendent.
Moss’s career began at Marion Public Schools. He taught at Nettleton Public Schools for the last 11 years and held roles such as high school teacher, dean of students and most recently, principal of Nettleton Junior High.
He has a bachelor’s, master’s and Ed. specialist degree from Arkansas State University. He’s currently pursuing a Ph.D. in change leadership from the University of Central Arkansas.
“I am passionate about student-focused leadership and believe every decision in education should be made through the lens of what is best for kids,” Moss said in the Facebook post. “I’m excited to join Superintendent Kennedy and the outstanding administrators, faculty, and staff of Brookland. I can’t wait to meet the students, families, and community that make up the Bearcat family!”
