Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – July 22, 2024 – A 54-year-old Jonesboro man was arrested after police uncovered his bootlegging operation. According to police reports, Johnny Tellerton was selling alcohol out of a house in the 3500 block of Viking Street.

Hydrocodone pills were also available at Tellerton’s “business.” Police collected a 9mm handgun with a couple dozen rounds and almost $4,000 in cash.

In addition to over 150 cans of Bud Light, Tellerton seemed to be selling water bottles with something other than water inside. The Street Crimes Unit found water bottles with vodka in them. Some had gin. And there were water bottles with sparkling wine from Paul Masson.

At his probable cause hearing, prosecutors initially suggested a $10,000 cash/surety bond.

The judge in the case reminded the prosecutor that a more appropriate bond amount for bootlegging and simultaneous possession would be $150,000 c/s.
