Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – A Blytheville man is being held on a $200,000 cash/surety bond after police said a disturbance call escalated into a foot chase, leading to the discovery of a stolen handgun and marijuana.
District Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause Dec. 8 to charge 18-year-old Travion Laderius Anderson with the following:
- Class Y Felony: Simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms
- Class D Felony: Possession of a Schedule VI substance with the purpose to deliver
- Class D Felony: Theft by receiving a firearm less than $2,5000
- Class A Misdemeanor: Carrying a weapon
- Class A Misdemeanor: Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Class C Misdemeanor: Fleeing
According to the affidavit, on Dec. 5, Jonesboro police officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 300 block of North Caraway Road for a disturbance. Officers were advised that a man, Anderson, was kicking on one of the apartment doors.
Upon arrival, officer Trevor Doepfer could hear Anderson kicking a door and arguing with a woman. He then heard the woman say Anderson wanted to kill her, police said.
The officer told Anderson to show his hands, and Anderson said, “Why did you call them,” and ran off, leading to a chase, according to the affidavit.
The affidavit said that during the chase, Anderson dropped a backpack and ran into a wooded area across Caraway Road. However, he was soon caught and taken into custody. He was found to have $567 in cash and a bag of marijuana that weighed 2.28 grams on him.
Officers soon found the backpack and searched it, finding a set of digital scales with marijuana residue on them and marijuana shake in several of the pockets. Officers also found a handgun with a magazine containing 19 rounds in the area that Anderson fled to.
The affidavit said a check of the gun revealed it had been stolen out of the 500 block of North Caraway Road on Nov. 17.
Anderson was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center. While being searched by booking officers, Anderson was found to have another bag of marijuana on him, weighing 13.11 grams.
In addition to the $200,000 bond, Fowler ordered Anderson wear a GPS ankle monitor upon release.
Anderson’s next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 23, 2026.
