Paragould, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – Following a merger agreement between Arkansas Methodist Center (AMMC) and Baptist Memorial Healthcare, there was a changing of the signs today in Paragould.

In April of last year, the two organizations signed a letter of intent to merge. “I am excited by the incredible opportunity to merge our two organizations,” said Jason Little, president and CEO of Baptist Memorial Health Care, when the merger was announced.

The sign going up marks a significant milestone. JRN reached out to Baptist Memorial for more information on the timeline and any additional changes on the way.

According to the information released by Baptist Memorial, when the letter of intent was signed, they were in the early phases of discussions, but did expect to finalize an agreement early this year. Details of that agreement were not yet available.

“Merging with Baptist Memorial Health Care is an exciting opportunity for both Baptist and Arkansas Methodist Medical Center and, most importantly, for the community we serve,” said Brad Blowemer, CEO of Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in April.
