Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – May 17, 2024 – According to a Friday afternoon Facebook Post by Jonesboro Police, Mark Laureno, a third party home health care provider at a local assisted living facility, was arrested yesterday and charged with Sexual Assault.
The post states that Jonesboro officers were dispatched to the victim’s residence about a sexual assault that had already occurred. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the director of the assisted living facility along with a resident and her adult daughter. Officers were shown a security video of the victim’s room at the facility. In this video, Mr. Mark Laureno, the victim’s health aid, can be seen forcing the victim to perform an indecent act. The victim, who is 86 years old, requires basic needs assistance throughout the day and suffers from dementia.
A source told JRN “Her daughter had installed a camera in her room, and it is all on tape of him making the elderly woman do sexual things to him.”
According to JPD, an arrest warrant signed by Judge Boling was issued, and Mr. Laureno was arrested. During an interview with Mr. Laureano, he confirmed that he was working at the facility at the time of this incident. When telling him what officers observed on camera, Mr. Laureano requested his lawyer.
Mr. Laureno was then transported to the Craighead County Detention Center.
Laureno appeared before Judge Fowler on Friday, May 17, 2024, and received a bond of $100,000 cash surety and a no contact order for the facility.
