Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Feb. 26, 2025 – The Arvest Foundation recently announced a $5,000 donation to support the third annual “Thrown to the Wolves High School Innovation Competition” hosted by the Delta Center for Economic Development at Arkansas State University.
Modeled after a popular entrepreneurial television show, the competition challenges area high school teams to pitch their innovative solutions, explain how their products work, outline their go-to-market strategies and present their business and marketing plans to a panel of judges. The competition takes place Feb. 26.
“On behalf of the Arvest Foundation, we’re thrilled to support a platform for high school students to showcase their innovative ideas,” said Kevin Hufstedler, Arvest community bank president in Jonesboro. “Arvest believes in fostering the next generation of problem-solvers and business leaders, and we look forward to watching them succeed.”
This year’s “Thrown to the Wolves” competing schools include the Academies at Jonesboro High School, Midland High School, East Poinsett County High School, Paragould High School, Cross County High School and Walnut Ridge High School.
Each member of the top three teams will receive a $500 A-State Scholarship, cash prizes, free workspace to develop their ideas, and additional opportunities to support their innovations. One team will win the title of “Pack Pick” and be recognized for their efforts.
Andrea Allen, executive director of the Delta Center, said partnerships with organizations are critical to the growth of the region and help shape the future of innovation in Arkansas.
“We sincerely appreciate the Arvest Foundation for its invaluable support of this year’s ‘Thrown to the Wolves’ High School Innovation Competition,” said Allen. “Through this generous grant, the Arvest Foundation has not only helped foster a real-world educational experience but has also empowered high school innovators and entrepreneurs in northeast Arkansas.”
