Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – Arkansas State (23-8, 13-4 SBC) shot 41 percent (14-of-34) from three on the way to the 34-point win over Texas State (11-18, 7-11 SBC) before the Senior Night festivities, defeating the Bobcats 87-53 Friday night at First National Bank Arena.

Mia Tarver led the team with 15 points off of a 5-for-8 performance, all shots beyond the arc. D’Arrah Allen also logged 13 points, with three makes from deep.

A-State rattled off a 10-0 run to open the game, with Tarver netting three triples in the first five minutes of the game to pull away early. Six of the 14 threes made landed in the first quarter, with A-State leading the Bobcats, 26-9.

The Red Wolves hit another four in the second quarter, with the lead reaching as high as 27 before the score settled at halftime at 48-23.

Nothing changed in the second half, with a 24-8 Red Wolf advantage in the period, including a strangling five minute, 14-0 run for A-State. Nine Red Wolves added to the point total in the third.

Arkansas State ran the difference in the fourth quarter as high as 45 points off a Bella Weary three before letting off the gas. Texas State whittled away in the final few minutes before the final buzzer.
