Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Dec. 15, 2024 – Jonesboro police officers recently conducted a traffic stop on Johnson Avenue. A black Kia with two men in it was speeding.

According to the probable cause affidavit, both men seemed nervous during the traffic stop, a K9 was deployed on the vehicle and there was probable cause to search.

In the back seat, there was a backpack containing 424 grams of marijuana, scales and plastic bags for packaging. Under the front passenger seat was a loaded 9mm handgun with an extended magazine. It was also determined that one of the men had already been convicted of a felony in 2019.

Both men received multiple charges related to drugs, weapons and paraphernalia. The man with the previous felony received a bond of $100,000 c/s while the other man’s bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety. Both have a court date of Jan. 24.
