Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — July 14, 2025 — Officials said a fire caused damage at the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s office in Jonesboro Sunday night.

Regional Facility Maintenance Coordinator Matt Nipper told JRN crews responded to the office around 9:30 p.m.

He said that the inside of the office was “completely burnt” and destroyed, but the structure is still standing, with most of the walls intact. AGFC’s Chief of Communications, Keith Stephens, issued the following statement:

“The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is saddened by the fire that destroyed our Jonesboro field office last night.

We are grateful that there were no injuries reported as a result of this incident. Our immediate priority is ensuring the well-being of our staff who operate out of that office. We are working closely with local authorities, including the Jonesboro Fire Department, as they investigate the cause of the fire.

While the loss of the physical office is significant, the dedication of our Jonesboro team remains unwavering. We are already working on contingency plans to ensure minimal disruption to our services in the area.”

The AGFC’s Jonesboro office is located at 600 E. Lawson Road.
