Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — July 30, 2025 — Court documents show that four men arrested in Jonesboro for a vehicle break-in were found with a slew of evidence, among which included an AR-15 pistol and a tool used for reprogramming key fobs.

According to an affidavit, on July 28, Jonesboro police officers went to a home on Clark Street for a report of people breaking into a vehicle.

The victim told dispatch that the suspects were inside his vehicle at the time of the call, but upon arrival, the officers did not see anyone in it. However, they saw another vehicle running and parked slightly off the road at E. Nettleton Avenue and Clark Street, a few houses away from where the reported break-in had occurred, prompting officers to make contact with the occupants.

The affidavit said while this was happening, other officers spoke with the victim, confirming that items had been taken from their vehicle and that one of the windows had been shattered. The officers were also shown surveillance footage in which a man could be seen running away from the scene of the break-in toward the suspect vehicle.

During the investigation, officers found a window punch tool left behind on one of the front seats of the victim’s vehicle, which the affidavit noted “is consistent with tools commonly used to break car windows.”

Inside the suspect’s vehicle, several items were found, including an AR-15-style pistol and a large capacity magazine, multiple key fobs that included some without manufacturer logos, a set of Allen wrenches, and an OBD diagnostic cable connected to a large tablet-style device, commonly used for reprogramming key fobs once the car’s wiring system is accessed, according to the affidavit.

Another item found was a cell phone belonging to one of the suspects, which, when opened, displayed a navigation application with online directions and a police scanner app tuned to the Jonesboro Police Department’s radio traffic.

The affidavit said when police talked to the owner of the suspect vehicle, they were unaware that the suspects were using the vehicle for criminal activity.
