Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — Aug. 5, 2025 — Court documents show that a traffic stop on a Jonesboro man led authorities to uncover a cache of weapons, including an AR-15 and loaded drum magazines, alongside with marijuana and nearly $3,500 in cash.

According to an affidavit, during the course of a drug investigation, agents with the Second Judicial District Drug Task Force received word that 40-year-old Christopher Wallace Triplett had been selling illegal drugs. They also had known Triplett to have addresses in the 2400 block of Mary Jane Road and the 200 block of Richmond Avenue.

On Aug. 1, when at the Mary Jane Road address for surveillance, agents saw Triplett exit the home multiple times. The affidavit noted that two different vehicles stopped at the location and stayed a short time before living. Triplett could also be seen exiting the home with a small plastic bag, getting into a vehicle registered to him and leaving the home.

The agents then conducted surveillance at the Richmond Avenue, where they said they saw Triplett entering and exiting the home with a white backpack. He then left and turned onto East Nettleton Avenue where officers saw him crossing the center line, noting he had a suspended driver’s license.

A traffic stop was conducted, during which police found a firearm along with one pound of marijuana in bag inside the backpack Triplett was seen carrying. The affidavit said that he also had $3,458 in cash.

Police said a search warrant signed off by District Judge David Boling was conducted at the Richmond Avenue home. There, several items, mainly guns and ammo, were found:

  • One pound of marijuana inside a vacuum-sealed bag
  • An AR-15 rifle
  • A 12-gauge shotgun
  • A .38 special handgun
  • One AR magazine containing 29 rounds
  • Two double AR magazines containing 60 rounds each
  • An AR drum magazine containing 60 rounds
  • An AR double-barrel magazine drum containing 69 rounds
  • Large black/clear plastic bags

The affidavit said that Triplett’s wallet with his identification and a utility bill with his information were also found.

On Aug. 4, District Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause to charge Triplett with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of a Schedule VI substance with the purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license is cancelled, suspended or revoked, and driving left of the center lane.

Triplett is being held in the Craighead County Detention Center on a $250,000 cash/surety bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 30.
