Daytona Beach, FL – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – April 12, 2025 – The Arkansas State Red Wolves Dancers received the highest score and highest finish in team history showcasing their pom routine at the National Dance Alliance (NDA) Collegiate Dance Championships Friday in Daytona, Florida.
The team’s Division 1A Pom dance routine earned a 94.77 score to place them 4th nationally behind Iowa State, Miami University-Oxford and South Florida receiving scores of 96.62, 96.17 and 95.68 respectively. The Red Wolves were the only pom team to make a move up in standings following their preliminary competition Thursday.
“I am just so proud of this team,” said Ellie Smith, Red Wolves Dance Coach. “For everything that was in their control they gave 110% this week, and for everything that was not, they let go and gave it to God.”

The dance team’s Division 1A Jazz dance routine received a 90.31 score in finals competition Friday. Boise State won the 1A Jazz division receiving a 96.05 score.
“I am so proud of the recognition this team received from so many people down here,” Smith said. “Everyone knows the name ‘Arkansas State.'”
The Arkansas State Red Wolves Cheerleaders, coached by Spirit Coordinator Ryan Salami, competed in the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Collegiate Cheer Championships, also in Daytona. The team took two routines to this year’s competition, one in Advanced Small Coed Division 1A and another in Intermediate All Girl Division 1A.
The All-Girl cheer routine earned an 88.87 score in Friday’s finals competition. West Virginia’s club team won the Intermediate 1A division with a 94.34 score.

A-State’s Coed cheer routine earned an 84.84 on Friday. Texas Tech won the Advanced 1A Coed cheer division with a 94.01 score.
