Jonesboro, AR — (Contributed) — July 17, 2025 — Arkansas State baseball head coach Mike Silva announced the addition of four signees to the 2026 roster on Thursday, signing Ryan Ashford, James Trimble, Cole Manuel, and Houston Tomlinson.
Ashford transfers to A-State from Miami, where he made four appearances with one earned run allowed on four hits as a freshman. Prior to his time in Coral Gables, the left-handed pitcher was a three-time all-conference and 2024 First Team All-Orlando Area selection at Lake Mary High School.
The Lake Mary, FL, native recorded a 0.89 ERA and 70 strikeouts over 55 innings as a senior, breaking a single-season school record for most wins in a season with 12.
Trimble will don the Scarlet and Black after striking out 16 batters over 11 appearances at Louisiana. The right-handed pitcher made one appearance for Alvin Community College in 2024 and threw in 13.2 innings for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in 2023.
He earned UIL First Team All-League and First Team All-District honors as a senior at Ball High School in Galveston, Texas.
Manuel arrives to Jonesboro following two seasons at Jones College in Mississippi. The two-way player spent the majority of his time as a position player, splitting 89 starts and 100 appearances between catcher and the infield.
He slashed .295/.465/.421 with 63 RBIs and 53 runs scored, tallying 15 doubles and six home runs. On the mound, the right-handed pitcher posted a 2-1 record with a 2.84 ERA, striking out 18 batters over 19 innings pitched.
Tomlinson joins the Red Wolves following his freshman season at Texas A&M. The right-handed pitcher was listed as 22nd in the Prep Baseball Texas 2024 class rankings and helped lead Grand Oaks High School to the second round of the playoffs.
