Memphis, TN — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — Aug. 5, 2025 — A 1979 Arkansas State University graduate was honored Saturday during the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity’s International Leadership Academy held at the Peabody Hotel.
Tim O. Brown of Jonesboro was presented the prestigious Loyalty Award by Past International Pike President John Bobango. The award honors longtime service and commitment to the Pike fraternity. It has been presented annually since 1969.

Brown has now been honored by Pi Kappa Alpha nationally with every major award: Chapter Adviser of the Year, Order of West Range (Pike’s highest honor) and now the Loyalty Award.
Brown was honored as a Distinguished Alumni by the Arkansas State University Alumni Association in 2016.
“Over the last 40 years, Tim O. has most likely impacted more A-State students’ lives than any other volunteer in school history by mentoring over 1,300 young men who followed him in the fraternity,” his nominators wrote.
Brown is president and CEO of Brown’s Graduation Supply Co., a Herff Jones Company. In this role he has served as an unofficial goodwill ambassador for Arkansas State while regularly visiting high school students throughout Arkansas. He is married to Arleen, and they are the parents of Kayce, Meredith and Allison.
The Delta Theta Chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity at Arkansas State University undergraduates received a third straight Robert A. Smythe Award, given annually to a very select number of the very best Pike chapters in the country. This is the 16th overall Smythe award received by Delta Theta dating back to Tim O. and John’s leadership back in the ’70s.
The Pike Northeast Arkansas Alumni Association was also named an Alumni Association of the Year for the 12th consecutive year.
