Press release:
Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Nov. 17, 2024 – Former Jonesboro Mayor Doug Formon has publicly endorsed incumbent Mayor Harold Copenhaver in his re-election campaign.
“I’m truly amazed at what Harold has accomplished in the short time that he’s been Jonesboro’s mayor. From my experience in that seat, I know how hard it can be to make things happen,” Formon said. “And in addition to starting in the middle of a pandemic—it blows my mind. The things he’s been able to accomplish—street and sidewalk improvements, public space investments, quality-of-life projects, industry growth—all while reducing crime, is baffling to me.”
Formon also commended Copenhaver’s approach to his re-election campaign, noting his positive, solutions-focused outlook.
“I admire Harold because he has kept his campaign positive, which shows who he truly is. He’s taken the high road and that’s why I’m endorsing him to be re-elected as Jonesboro’s mayor,” he said.
Mayor Copenhaver expressed gratitude for Formon’s endorsement and reflected on the former mayor’s legacy of service. “Both Mayor Formon and Mayor Perrin through their public service paved the way for the progress we’ve been able to achieve,” Copenhaver said. “I deeply appreciate Doug’s support.”
