Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – April 1, 2024 – Five girls, ages 15 and 16, were arrested Saturday afternoon at the Consolidated Youth Services facility, 4220 Stadium, following a melee, according to Jonesboro police.
JPD Officer Jeremy Marlow states that a disturbance was reported at the facility at 3:30 p.m. involving about 10 juvenile females. After police gained control of the crowd, staff identified a 15-year-old girl as the main culprit in the near-riot, Marlow wrote.
CYS staff reported that she had struck a member of the staff. As officers tried to place her in handcuffs, the girl refused to comply with officers’ instructions and resisted until she was put inside of a patrol car, the report said.
She was taken to the Craighead County Juvenile Detention Center alongside another juvenile involved in the altercation.
The other three who were arrested were left at the CYS facility due to a lack of beds at the juvenile jail.
