Bono, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – February 6, 2025 – Three people were killed, five injured in an early morning crash in the Bono Hill vicinity on Highway 63 between Bono and the I-555 Dan Avenue exit.

John Leroy Lewis, 58, Mountain Home; David Lee Vanwinkle, 63, Winona, MO; Timothy Collin Foote, 62, West Burlington, IA were killed.

Robert Joseph Harris, 35, Greentop, MO; Donald Zachary Williams, 44, Maynard; David Michael Reading, Jr., 29, St. Louis, MO; Jimmy Lee McMullen, 35, Collinsville, OK; and Garrett William Sorrell, 34, Gamaliel were injured.

Lewis was the only occupant in the Dodge. All others were occupants of the van. Sources at the scene said the occupants of the van were employees of a contractor doing work on the Burlington-Northern Railroad near Sedgwick.

Arkansas State Trooper Cody Jackson said the accident happened around 5:40am Thursday when a southbound 2005 Dodge Dakota driven by Lewis and a northbound 2016 Ford Transit Van driven by Vanwinkle collided head-on on the northbound fog line. Jackson said the weather was cloudy and the road was wet at the time of the accident.

All of the injured were taken to either St. Bernards Medical Center or NEA Baptist Hospital. The condition of the injured was unknown.
