Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – May 29, 2024 – A 51-year-old Jonesboro man is sitting in the Craighead County Detention Center after a judge set his bond at $250,000.
District Judge David Boling found probable cause Wednesday to charge William E. Yarbrough with rape of a person less than 14 years old, a class Y felony, and second-degree sexual assault, a class B felony. A class Y felony is punishable by 10-40 years to life in prison.
According to a probable cause affidavit by Detective Logan Butler, on Saturday, May 25, police received a call from an 18-year-old male and a 15-year-old female who said they were sexually assaulted by Yarbrough several years prior.
The female said from the ages of 6 to 13, Yarbrough groped her multiple times.
When interviewed by detectives, Yarbrough admitted that he did have inappropriate sexual contact with the children.
Yarbrough’s next court date is July 26 in Craighead County Circuit Court.
