Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — July 30, 2025 — A woman is being held on a $250,000 cash/surety bond after she was arrested in connection with a reported stabbing in Jonesboro.

According to an affidavit, on July 28, Jonesboro police officers responded to a home in the 500 block of Melton Circle for a stabbing.

There, they found three victims outside in the drive and one kneeling, holding a towel against the side of their face. They also saw a steady flow of blood falling on the pavement as well as a pool of blood under the kneeling victim, the affidavit said. That victim was taken to the hospital.

The suspect, 25-year-old Shelby Grace Scriber, who was still at the scene, was arrested and taken to the Criminal Investigation Division for an interview. The affidavit said she admitted to trying to kill the victim by attacking them with a knife after calling them over to the home.

Craighead County Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause July 30 to charge Scriber with criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder. In addition to the $250,000 bond, he ordered Scriber to have no contact with the victims. Scriber must go through a second mental health evaluation, despite one being done before the hearing, Fowler ordered.

Scriber’s next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 30.
