Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — April 16, 2025 — Two Jonesboro City Council members will be holding a town hall meeting on Thursday.
Hosted by Ward 6 council members David McClain and Dr. Anthony Coleman, the town hall will take place at the Allen Park Community Center, located at 3609 Race St. Anyone from Jonesboro can attend; it is not limited to those who live in Ward 6.
The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.
“The main thing is giving people who may not feel like ‘I can come to a council meeting and speak up,’ but give them an opportunity to come and meet with us and voice concerns and thoughts about how things are going in the city, and then turn around and take that back to the council as well as the mayor’s office,” McClain told KLEK.
McClain and Coleman told KLEK 102.5 FM that they got the idea after a Ward 6 Neighborhood Watch meeting, in which meeting attendees had concerns about crime, safety and expanding streets.
“David and I represent Ward 6, and Ward 6 is probably one of the fastest [growing] wards and fastest [growing] areas in the Jonesboro proper,” Coleman told KLEK. “There are a lot of concerns with that. Infrastructure to streets to just so many things that’s happening.”
Jonesboro Police Department Chief Rick Elliott will be attending, as well as some other city officials, Coleman said.
Coleman added that the town hall will discuss the upcoming Eastside Park and how it will affect Ward 6, as well as other “areas of concern.”
