Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — July 14, 2025 — A judge decided Monday to uphold a level-two Jonesboro sex offender’s bond of $1 million on another charge for firearm possession.
Craighead County Judge David Boling found probable cause to charge 44-year-old Cecil Aldridge with possession of a firearm by certain persons (prior felony).
According to the affidavit, on July 10, investigators with the Jonesboro Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit went to a home in the 900 block of Warner Avenue to find Aldridge, who they knew to have been at the home and had multiple warrants.
There, they found Aldridge standing in a bathtub and arrested him. The owner of the home was found to be on active parole and a search of the home was conducted. Investigators found a backpack containing Aldridge’s ID and a pistol.
Aldridge was already being held on a $1 million temporary bond as of July 10, but during Monday’s court hearing, Boling decided to keep the bond for him. Aldridge will also have to wear a GPS ankle monitor upon release.
Aldridge had previously been arrested after police said he failed to comply with state reporting requirements due to his status as a level-two sex offender. On July 11, Judge Barbara Halsey found probable cause to charge Aldridge for this offense and gave him a $75,000 cash/surety bond.
Aldridge is scheduled to be back in court for both cases on Aug. 21.
