Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – May 31, 2024 – Two male teenagers were arrested this morning after police said they broke into a vehicle on Rogers Street and stole a handgun.
The boys, ages 16 and 14, stole the 9mm Taurus from the console of a vehicle belonging to a Memphis woman who was visiting the residence.
A neighbor called the resident, telling him that she saw two males breaking into the vehicle. The resident went outside and saw the two males, who then took off running. He grabbed his keys and took off after the two in his vehicle.
The boys ran down Aggie Road, where the resident got them to stop. He eventually got the two to show him where they ditched the gun, and he retrieved it.
Police were called and they took the pair into custody. They were taken to the Craighead County Juvenile Detention Center.
