Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — May 2, 2025 — A Jonesboro man is being held on a $100,000 cash/surety bond after police said he threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend during a text conversation and sent a sexually explicit video to multiple people.

According to an affidavit, on April 17, Jonesboro police officers met with the victim who said her ex-boyfriend, 22-year-old Martell Treveon Dequan Haggins, threatened her life and to share a video of both of them having sex.

Haggins continued to send videos and messages to the victim after she asked him to stop contacting her, the affidavit said. Immediately after sending one of these videos, a picture of a Glock pistol on someone’s lap was sent, followed by the text, “Ima kill u,” police said.

When the victim said she told Haggins she was going to contact the police, he replied, “They getting shot,” followed by, “And your body getting dismembered,” the affidavit stated.

The victim also claimed that Haggins shared a video of the two having sex to another person on Facebook. The police met the witness, who confirmed they received the video from Haggins’ Facebook profile.

On April 30, Haggins was arrested for another fight with the victim, during which he admitted to sending the threatening text messages to her and the video of them having sex to two people, according to the affidavit.

Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause on May 2 to charge Haggins with first-degree terroristic threatening, sexual extortion, first-degree stalking, and unlawful distribution of sexual images or recordings.

In addition to the $100,000 bond, Judge Fowler ordered Haggins to have no contact with the victim, and he is unable to access the internet.

Haggins’ next court appearance is scheduled for June 27.
