Edward E. Smith, 77, of Paragould, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. He was born to Jack and Mildred Smith. Edward was a joyful person who enjoyed music and dancing. Known for his remarkable skill with machinery and his indefatigable work ethic, Edward was the epitome of a jack of all trades. Edward’s passion for blue-collar work was matched only by his generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand. He was a mentor to many, sharing his extensive knowledge and experience. His most prized possession was his wife of 59 years, and the love he shared for his kids and grandchildren.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Lola Hileman, Betty Thomas, Slyvia Hampton, M.J. Smith, L.D. Smith, Carl James Smith; and grandson, Tommy Christmas.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda Smith; sons, Scotty Smith (Dara), Ronny Smith (Angie), Jeremy Smith (Miranda); daughters, Tracy Bellis (Scott), Stacy Paltillo; sisters, Velta McNatt, and twin sister Mary Sailor; grandchildren, Jeremy Smith (Miranda), Zakk (Madison) Frahler, Darien Douglas (Bradley), Alec Jackson (McKenzie), Allison Clifford, Cecil Wicker, Brittany Eisele (Matt); and fifteen great- grandchildren.

A graveside service under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home will be held on Monday, August 19, at 11:00 a.m. at Finch Cemetery with Dennis Strope officiating. Jeremy Smith, Cecil Wicker, Scotty Smith, Ronny Smith, Scott Bellis, Zakk Frahler, Alec Jackson, and Bradley Douglas will serve as pallbearers.
