Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – August 13, 2024 – The City of Jonesboro Parks and Recreation Department held the ribbon cutting for the new Bark Park Dog Park Tuesday.
The park is located on Parkview Street off Highland Drive and Culberhouse Road near Jonesboro High School. The park features separate areas for small and large dogs, a refreshing doggie-size water fountain, and a scenic sidewalk walkway. Residents seeing the park for the first time Tuesday described it as the perfect place for your pups to play and relax.
Park hours are 7am to 8pm daily.
Parks and Recreation Director Danny Kapales, Mayor Harold Copenhaver, and Miss Arkansas Camille Cathey all spoke at Tuesday’s dedication. Officials had announced in June that the city expected the cost of constructing the dog park to come in below the $300,000 budget.
Bark Park is the second dog park in the city. The Midtown dog park is located on Cobb Street behind the Earl Bell Community Center.
