Shane Edward Potter, 49, of Corning, Arkansas went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.

He was born and raised in Belvidere, Illinois to Daniel and Betty King Potter. He was a member of the Belvidere Church of Christ and graduated from Belvidere High School in 1993. He had a love of learning and attended Rock Valley College and Freed Hardeman University where he earned multiple degrees. Shane enjoyed landscaping, especially building ponds and found happiness in creating something out of nothing. Throughout his life he managed several stores most recently he created The Corning Bargain Vault of which he was proud.

His greatest joy in life were his beloved children, Tristan age 7, Abbey age 13 and Adam age 13. He had a soft spot for animals and would take in any stray he found. He loved spending time with family and spent many hours compiling and researching his family tree.

Shane will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of a good debate, good heart and passion for the things most important to him.

He was loved and will be dearly missed by his children, Tristan, Abbey, and Adam of Paragould; parents, Daniel and Betty Potter of Belvidere, Illinois; sister, Angela (Steve) Christensen of Leaf River, Illinois; grandmother, Beverly King of Pocahontas, Arkansas; nieces and nephews, Payton, Kailey, Faith, Noah, Steve, AJ and Dom; his only love, Erika; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who he loved dearly along with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Redmon King; grandparents, Roger and Alice Potter; uncles, William King and Gary Potter.

We can hear him saying “Stop wasting your time on me and get on with life.”

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Belvidere Church of Christ in Belvidere IL from 4-5 PM with a memorial service beginning at 5 PM with Chris Hvezda officiating.

A second memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Pyburn Street Church of Christ in Pocahontas, AR from 1:30-2:30 PM with a memorial service beginning at 2:30 PM with Joshua Dement officiating.
