Paul Ishmael Sr., 79, a lifetime resident of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, July 30, 2024.  He was born in Jonesboro on July 7, 1945, to Virgil and Emma Ishmael. He worked for many years as a self-employed tile setter.  He was a member of the Woodsprings Baptist Church.  His hobby was wood-working, and he whittled many canes for his friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Opal Ishmael and several siblings.

Survivors include his sons, Paul Ishmael Jr (Jaresa Parten); Eddie Ishmael (Tammy); Toby Ishmael (McKenzie Marie); brother, Carl Mosby, all of Jonesboro; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

A Funeral service will be 2:00 Monday, August 5, 2024, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother Brad Robinson officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time. The burial will be private.
