Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – July 30, 2024 – Stemming from a social media post that has since been deleted, St. Bernards is at the center of a large discussion regarding billing processes.
A Jonesboro woman made a Facebook post on Monday telling readers to beware of certain bills they could receive in the mail.

The post’s creator explained that “St Bernards does not know where these are coming from and are investigating. I was the 4th caller today.”
She goes on to point out that there are addresses for both Florida and Searcy, and the bill doesn’t have the St. Bernards logo on it, nor any red lettering.
JRN reached out to St. Bernards directly. Media Relations Manager Mitchell Nail said “I cannot speak to that specific bill in the photo, but in terms of the style, design, and color scheme, yes. We have those bills. They are specifically related to certain providers at St. Bernards.”
Nail went on to explain that providers are billed differently than how facility and service bills are sent. Provider bills are sent via a system called “Medusind.” This billing system is used by medical providers, physicians, APNS, and several others that are either employed by or contracted with St. Bernards.
Medusind has experienced a disruption in the payment system that they use. Nial said “These types of bills are just a holdover until the new system is put in place.” In the meantime, these blue bills are coming from them. According to Nail, if bills have “St. Bernards Medical Center” on them and have the Searcy address and the Florida address, “they are legitimate.”
Nail also said that if there is ever a question whether a bill is legit, you are always encouraged to call the number on the bill and ask Medusind for an itemized statement. That document will include date of service, provider information, or services rendered. The original bill does not have any information on it. If the itemized bill matches the services that you received and the provider that you saw, then it’s safe to pay the bill.
Additionally, feel free call the St. Bernards Billing Department and give them the statement number. They should be able to determine where it came from with that info.
