Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – July 29, 2024 – According to documents from the Jonesboro Police Department, two women got into a fight over the weekend at an apartment complex on Tony Drive in Jonesboro.
The report states that officers made contact with the 39-year-old victim who they found to be bleeding from a small laceration on her chin. The victim stated that she had been in an altercation with the suspect over the fact that the suspect “owed her five dollars.”
The victim stated that she left the suspects apartment, and she followed her with knife in hand.
When officers made contact with the suspect, she said that she and the victim had been inside her apartment when they began to argue. She stated that she told the victim to leave, but attempted to break the windows of her apartment on her way out.
As a result, she told officers that she retrieved a kitchen knife and went outside to confront the victim when they began to physically fight.
The suspect then told officers that she attempted to stab the victim but “did not believe that she actually had succeeded.”
The suspect was charged with second degree battery and given a $5,000 c/s charge.
