Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – July 23, 2024 – In a report filed by the Jonesboro Police Department on Monday, a 42-year-old man went to the PD on Caraway Rd and told officers that he wanted to turn in his handgun to them.
He explained that he and his wife were having problems, and he wanted to turn his gun over to the police “due to the possibility that she might accuse him of threatening her with it.”
When asked if he could give it to anyone else, he told police that he is living in a hotel, and doesn’t have any family or friends he can give it to at this time.
The complainant was advised that he could recover his firearm at the PD any time if he changed his mind, but they’d hold onto it for him in the meantime.
