The caller told dispatch that she could hear people screaming inside, a child was screaming “help,” and she was unsure if anyone was still inside. Mayor Harold Copenhaver read into the record that Tina’s quick response “saved six of her neighbors’ lives during a devastating house fire. Despite the danger, Tina courageously woke the six family members through flames, ensuring they escaped harm.”
Copenhaver said, “In a moment of true bravery, Tina’s keen senses guided her to discover the fire early in the morning. Her selflessness and quick thinking stand as a testament to her remarkable character and deep love for our community. Tina has truly become the embodiment of the heartbeat of Jonesboro.”
