Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – July 9, 2024 – Jonesboro based Gearhead Outfitters has been featured in a nationwide industry publication.
The Outdoor Sports Retail Expo is North America’s largest trade show for the outdoor industry. As a part of the twice annual event, the Outdoor Retailer publishes a web-based newsletter called “The Daily.” In its July 8, 2024, release the success of Gearhead was the subject of a piece titled “Gearhead Outfitters Expanding Store Count and Finding Success Despite Market Challenges.”
The article highlights Gearhead’s growth to 22 locations across seven states. Owner Ted Herget says where the company decides to go isn’t driven by a master expansion program, but mostly by vendors mentioning opportunities to him.
“We’re just opportunistic. We’re not chasing it,” said Herget. “Generally, deals will come our way, but it’s really cheaper for us to open our own store.”
According to the Outdoor Retailer article the company’s 22 stores are located in Arkansas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, and Colorado.
Herget said Gearhead Outfitters is “doing great” this year with same-store sales running up.
