Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – July 9, 2024 – According to documents released by ARDOT, plans for the Aggie Road/Airport Road connector includes two roundabouts, cuts through a portion of the ASU Farm and the Judd Hill Farmers Market, cuts through the old “Diamond Grill” parking lot, and seems to overlay at least 8 homes on Willow Pointe Dr.

Plans for the connector road have been under scrutiny by several members of the public, with ARDOT holding public involvement meetings over the last few weeks.

The project’s scheduled letting date is November 2025, with a budget of $10 to $15 Million.

The new road’s eastern end will tie into the already-under-construction overpass at the airport. Plans for the new overpass include rerouting Airport Road slightly to the west, to allow for approach and descent on each side.

Plans for the new Airport Road overpass began in 2018, construction began in 2022, and it is expected to be completed in 2025 with an estimated cost of $18 Million.
