Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – July 8, 2024 – An 18-year-old Jonesboro man has been charged with aggravated assault on a family or household member and first-degree terroristic threatening after an altercation involving groceries.
JPD reported that a female had come home to a residence on Race Street after a trip to the grocery store. According to the affidavit, she asked Lavell Walker if he’d help her unload the vehicle. He not only refused to help bring in the groceries, but he started yelling at her, cursing, and threatened to kill her in her sleep.
The victim told police that Walker then grabbed a knife from the kitchen and threatened her with it.
Her hand was punctured by the knife as she was trying to get the weapon away from him. She was able to get that knife, but then he went to the kitchen to get another one. It was at this point that police arrived.
Walker was placed into custody. His bond was set during his probable cause hearing at $20,000.
